Northampton, Massachusetts Urban Engagement Session
Chase and Amanda are getting married in October 2023 at Zukas Hilltop Barn in Spencer, MA. The wedding package they chose included an engagement session and I'm soooo glad because I had the absolute BEST time with them!! It was so nice to get to know both of them before their wedding day so hopefully we'll all be more comfortable on the day and also I'll already know a little more of their dynamic. And lemme tell ya, their dynamic is FUN. I love their energy so much!!
Initially when we chatted about their engagement session, we were hoping to plan for snowfall. Amanda had been dreaming of her and Chase walking through a cute town in Central Massachusetts with Arya (their dog) in the winter with snow on the ground. Sadly, after three of our TBD engagement session dates came and went, we had to pull the trigger on our last tentative date and there was no snow. BUT - I think their photos came out sosososo cute nonetheless!!! We still got the cute small town vibes in Northampton, Massachusetts and got to include Arya. Luckily, her momma came along to watch their pup for the times she wasn't included in the photos! Even though it didn't snow, boy was it cold! We photographed their engagement session in the morning and after galavanting around in the morning chill, heading into a cute coffee shop for some more photos was definitely a treat.

How'd you guys meet? What's the story of your first date or one of your favorite dates in the beginning that was a game changer for you?
"Chase and I grew up in the same town but didn't reconnect until I finished pharmacy school and moved back home six years later. We had some mutual friends in high school but never really interacted. Our first date was at a breakfast place in our small town because Chase was working third shift at the time and the mornings worked best. The day he choose was the day he closed on his condo, so he was ten minutes late to our date but came flying in pretty disheveled. I thought that it spoke volumes that he was trying to see me on one of the busiest days for him, when we clearly could have rescheduled."
Tell me the story of your proposal!
"Chase had just graduated the fire academy and his parents wanted to throw him a graduation party where my whole family was invited as well. I was hoping it would be an engagement since everyone would be present but he had been super calm and honestly didn't have the time to even get a ring the months prior because of the academy so I thought it wasn't likely. We showed up and our families starting arriving and then all of a sudden I noticed chases mom, Chase and our dog were missing. Next thing I know Chase is walking our dog Arya outside with a new red leather collar that had a fire crest on it and saying it was a gift his parents had gotten him for completing the academy. He told me to look and a ring was tied to her collar. I honestly don't remember much after that, other than I almost passed out haha."

What are you most excited for for your wedding?
"I'm excited for our first look, my dress is different and not what I expected to pick! I can't wait for Chase to see it. Also I choose my brother to be my brother of honor and Chase is going to have his sister as his "best man". We are huge on family so its really important to have them with us for the big day!! Chase and I will probably choose to have personal vows in the ceremony."
