Sunrise Proposal in the Adirondacks
Tom and Alli are my good friends so when Tom shared he was going to propose to Alli I was sooo excited for them. Then he asked if I would photograph their engagement and ummm of course!! It's one thing to celebrate milestones in your friends life but it's another to be the one to hide in the bushes to document it!
Alli's family has a home in Westport, NY in the Adirondacks that they often vacation to so Tom knew pretty quickly he wanted to pop the question while they were up there. Initially he wanted to propose on a mountaintop since we were in the Adirondacks but he ultimately decided on the dock at the house during sunrise. It worked out perfectly because Alli was totally caught off guard! She said that once they got to the end of the dock when he took her coffee out of her hands is when she was like "OH! I wouldn't have worn sweats if I knew" hahaha.
Fortunately, since they were right by their house she did a quick outfit change then took a few more photos on the property! After taking some photos we made breakfast while Alli FaceTimed all of her people to show off the new ring. Everyone had to act surprised, but really they were all preparing for their surprise engagement party that night!
Owls Head Lookout New York Engagement Photos
After breakfast we headed to Owls Head Lookout to hike and take mountaintop engagement photos on the summit! This was the initial location Tom wanted to propose so it was perfect that we could get best of both worlds for their photos.
The late October temperature was super mild so it was perfect conditions to take photos. It was fairly windy though which added movement to Alli's hair (which we loooove) and then had cloud cover coming and going to make a dynamic sky (also love!). The Adirondacks were the most perfect landscape for their photos with a smattering of fall leaves dotting the background. Like truly that one yellow tree is doing the most haha.
I'm sosooso happy for my friends and am so honored I got to play a small part in such a monumental day in their relationship!!
