Meet Kelly and Chris!
They met at work and started out as friends first then started dating a few years later. On their first date they got sushi in back bay right near the office, then wandered down Newbury St to Sonsie where they got espresso martinis and truffle fries and shared their first kiss.
Chris proposed in Newport at the Castle Hill Inn Lighthouse. Here's what Kelly said about that moment:
"We try to go to Newport, RI every summer for a day trip. We had it planned for a day in August and I had made us a lunch reservation at Castle HIll Inn. Chris had said someone from work told him he had to go stop and see the lighthouse while we were there. We were running late to our reservation so I tried to get Chris to go see it after. Chris said something like "oh my friend told me the early afternoon is the best time to see it" so i was like whatever this is odd. We walked down to the lighthouse and Chris got down on one knee. We never ended up going to the reservation as he had all our family and close friends waiting for us back in Boston to celebrate."
We love a surprise that leads to another surprise to keep the celebration going!
I'll be photographing their wedding in June 2025 and I can't wait to capture the party for them and their crew!
Boston Harbor Engagement Session
For their engagement session Kelly chose Boston Seaport because they wanted a mix of both an urban vibe with buildings but also wanted photos on the water. They had considered Back Bay but ultimately decided on Seaport since Kelly was hoping for more of a light and airy romantic style of lighting and editing for the images.
The Harborwalk in Boston's Seaport is so great because it's right on the Boston Harbor to get a beautiful water background, but then you have downtown Boston right across the way in order to have an epic skyline as well!
Here are some more sessions in the Seaport District you might enjoy checking out:
