If you’re dreaming of a wedding weekend that feels equal parts laid-back and breathtaking, Church Landing in Meredith, New Hampshire might be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s one of those venues that immediately makes you feel like you’re on vacation. It’s got lake views, cozy charm, beautiful gardens, and everything is within walking distance (so no herding guests between locations—win!). And I can say, without a doubt, it's one of my favorite places to shoot a wedding.
Brittany & Matt's Wedding Day At Church Landing
When I think about Church Landing, I can’t not think about Brittany and Matt’s wedding. They got married there in July 2024, and it was one of those weddings that just felt filled with love from start to finish.
Brittany’s the kind of person who’s giggly and full of light. She LOVES having her photo taken, which made my job easy. Matt, on the other hand, is more reserved and not super into photos, but watching Brittany pull him out of his shell during their first look and portraits was the sweetest thing. You could actually see him relax and start to enjoy the moment, which is all I ever want for my couples.
And her family? I wanted to be adopted in. They were all so warm and kind. Her mom and sister helped her get into her dress, she tearfully FaceTimed her grandparents who couldn’t be there, and the first look with her dad was incredibly special to capture.
Oh, and I can't tell you about their wedding without mentioning the flower girl: Matt's grandmother. She stole the show in the best way. I was obsessed with everything about them.
Their ceremony took place right by the water and was officiated by a close friend (always a favorite touch of mine), followed by cocktail hour under the tent at sunset and dinner and dancing in the venue’s gorgeous ballroom.
It was one of those days where everything felt intentional and joy-filled, and I couldn’t have been more honored to take their photos. And honestly, they couldn’t have chosen a better venue—Church Landing is laid-back, beautiful, and makes it so easy for people to truly enjoy themselves.
What Makes Church Landing in Meredith, NH So Special?
Church Landing might technically be a hotel, but it’s not your typical ballroom wedding vibe. It has this cozy, upscale-lodge feel without being too rustic or overly polished—somewhere right in that sweet spot. And every corner has its own character. There’s a part of the venue that looks like a lighthouse (yes, really), a beautiful trellis in the garden, and this charming little covered walkway between buildings that feels like the perfect place for newlywed portraits.
It honestly feels more like a lakehouse retreat than a resort. Your guests can check in, relax, and immediately feel like they’re on a New England mini vacation without having to travel to other venues for the ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception.
And from a photographer’s perspective? The light is unmatched. If you're looking for glowy, ethereal wedding portraits, this venue is for you. The sun sets right over the garden and tent area, making it the perfect place for golden hour newlywed photos.
A Closer Look At The Property

One of the things I love most about Church Landing is how thoughtfully the spaces are laid out. Everything is super close together, so your guests aren’t trekking from one part of the property to another in heels or suits. Here’s a quick rundown of what the venue offers:
The Garden + Trellis – This is such a sweet, romantic ceremony spot and also my go-to for portraits. Especially if you're doing a first look before guests arrive!
Lakeside Lawn + Tent – A popular choice for cocktail hour. It overlooks the lake and catches the prettiest light in the evening. Add string lights and you’re golden.
The Ballroom – Warm wood beams, big windows, and enough space to dance all night. It feels intimate without being cramped and cozy without being too dark.
The Lighthouse Wing + Covered Walkways – These little details add so much character and give us endless backdrop options. Seriously, every turn is photogenic.
A Few Things To Note Before Booking
Because Church Landing is also a functioning hotel, there’s always a small chance of running into a rogue child in a swimsuit or guests wandering too close to the action. There are signs to block off wedding areas, but just something to be aware of if you're hoping for more privacy.
Also, the garden space (which I love for portraits) is typically shared with cocktail hour. If you want that time to yourselves, I highly recommend planning a first look earlier in the day. That way you'll get the space (and the light!) without a crowd nearby.
Who It's Great For
Church Landing in Meredith, NH is a fantastic option for you if you're looking for:
That classic New Hampshire lakefront feel
A slightly rustic vibe with some polish
A wedding weekend where everything’s in one place
Additional amenities for your guests like boat rides, local hikes, and cozy hotel rooms
An all-in-one option that saves you time and effort
I would highly recommend this venue if you want something that's both relaxed and elegant enough for one of the most important and romantic days of your life.
Final Thoughts

Church Landing isn’t just a beautiful backdrop—it’s a venue that makes your whole wedding day feel more relaxed and connected. Everything is right there: the lake, the gardens, the ceremony spot, cocktail hour, and reception space. It takes the stress out of logistics so you can just focus on enjoying the experience.
And that’s what I love most about it! You’re not stuck in a car traveling between locations or trying to keep track of a complicated schedule. You’re sipping cocktails by the water with your favorite people, taking portraits in the garden with your new spouse, and you're taking in the lakeside view.
So if you're dreaming of a wedding that feels like a New England weekend getaway, Church Landing in Meredith, NH is a solid choice. Add in the people you love most (and maybe a grandma flower girl for good measure!), and you've got a wedding day you’ll never forget.
