Halibut Point State Park Proposal

Halibut Point Proposal

Halibut Point State Park is a gorgeous park Rockport, MA featuring steep granite rock edges into a quarry with the ocean just on the other side. There is a big walking loop around the park to enjoy views from every angle, which is perfect for engagement photos!

Hunter reached out to me with interest in photographing his proposal to Cristina but wasn't sure exactly where along the North Shore he wanted to ask her to marry him. We talked a little about their relationship and I learned that their first date was at Halibut Point. Most often, the best location to propose is one that is special for your relationship!! So we decided pretty quick that Halibut Point was the perfect spot for them to get engaged.

It was a gorgeous December afternoon just before Christmas. The air was chilly but there was no snowfall yet so the edges of the quarry were safe to walk along. We chose a spot that featured the Halibut Point Lighthouse in the background that also provided beautiful lighting!

After one big question, a few tears, and lots of snuggles, we walked around the loop at Halibut Point to take some engagement photos to celebrate!! We parted ways after about where Hunter then surprised Cristina again with all of their family and friends waiting for them at the Beauport Hotel.

I'm so grateful I was able to capture such a milestone for their relationship! This was my first time at Halibut Point and I can't believe how beautiful it is! It was definitely the best backdrop for this next chapter in their love story.

Proposals are one of my very favorite things to photograph so if you're hoping to get yours documented, reach out!
