It's taken me forever to start this blog post because I just don't think I'll be able to do the day justice! In order to describe the energy, love, friendship, beauty, and style I'd need to turn into a poet. From start to finish it was the most perfect day, and one of my most favorite weddings / elopements I've photographed! I love these two beautiful human beings relationship and am so happy with how their photos turned out!!!
L+D got ready at the park plaza hotel before wandering around Beacon Hill for wedding portraits at Acorn St and Comm Ave before heading to Boston Public Garden for their small wedding ceremony. They celebrated their reception on the roof of a brownstone in Beacon Hill where they ate, drank, and danced the night away!

Their story
Lauren and Danny met each other since 2015 when they began working at the same company. Lauren was recruiting real estate agents and he had just got his license so she brought him on to their team. At the time Lauren was dating someone else so they formed a friendship at the start. In 2017 after getting to know each other they realized they had great banter and chemistry so went on a date. Danny proposed in December 2020 and they got married June 2021!

The wedding day
I met Lauren in her hotel room at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. Originally Lauren didn't want any getting ready images, but when their timeline ran a little late and I grabbed a few candids, she admitted she's so happy to have these images to help tell the story of their morning!
Lauren and Danny shared a low key, natural first look inside the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Danny stood by the elevator bay so when the doors opened they saw each other. After taking a few portraits we headed outside to take some photos around Boston. We walked towards Acorn Street, stopping to take some photos at Comm Ave, before ultimately going to the Boston Public Garden for their wedding ceremony.

Lauren and Danny celebrated their wedding ceremony at Boston Public Garden by the Japanese Lantern. If you're interested in eloping in Boston Public Garden, you'll need to obtain a permit. Everyone in the area was super respectful of the boundaries of their ceremony space, but if anyone did try to cause a ruckus, Danny hired two of his pals to be "body guards" for the day, which I'm totally obsessed with. It's so nice to have a piece of mind!! Their friend officiated the ceremony, Lauren's friend gave a speech, and they each read their own vows to each other which was a tear jerker for all their guests.
When I asked Lauren why she chose BPG, she shared that she was thinking courthouse but that she wanted her family to be able to watch it, and during the pandemic there was a limit to the amount of guests. Plus, they liked the idea of liked the idea of people standing up for the ceremony and how the garden allows for more earthy photos.

Family formal fun! While this time is important to get images of the immediate family, it's also a great time to take nice photos of guests without the couple. That was a big priority for L+D; to get great photos of their guests to be able to gift to them.

After the ceremony their guests were shuttled to a nearby brownstone for the reception while we headed to the bridge at Boston Public Garden. There was an accordion player posted up at the end of the bridge so L+D shared an impromptu first dance which is my most favorite thing of all time. There was tons of people in the garden and on the bridge during this time (it was like 5pm) but I think that adds to the charm because Boston is a bustling city! It adds a little bit of extra life! Plus, it's real life! Not all photos have to be / should be one hundred percent curated.
Danny's boss graciously offered up the roof of her brownstone right in the heart of Beacon Hill off of Marlborough Street. The roof provided stunning views and the weather held up for the most perfect night of eating, drinking, and dancing the night away. I'm so grateful these two invited me into their life to photograph one of the most special days of their relationship!!

How freaking amazing does all of that food look?!? I can't recommend William Ference Catering enough! Not only were they amazing at cheffing it up, all of the staff was incredibly kind.
