If you're in the "searching for the perfect wedding venue" phase of planning, Granite Links in Quincy, MA is probably already on your list.
Maybe you’ve toured it, loved the view, and now you’re wondering what a full wedding day there really feels like beyond that first impression.
Or maybe you’ve seen it pop up a few times in your late-night Google searches and you’re trying to decide if it’s worth adding to your list at all.
Either way, this should help you figure out if it's the right venue for you.
What Makes Granite Links Different From Other Venues?

The first thing you’ll notice is the view. And yes, it really is that good in person. But what ends up mattering more is how the setting actually works with your day.
You’re just outside of Boston, but it doesn’t feel like you’re in the city. You’re surrounded by these open, rolling hills, and then off in the distance, you can see the skyline. It’s a really specific combination that you don’t find at a lot of venues.
At most venues, you have to choose between the city or somewhere a little more off the beaten path. Here, you get a little bit of both without needing to move locations or build your timeline around it.
The other piece to understand early on is how the venue is set up.
Granite Links has two main reception spaces, and your experience will shift slightly depending on which one you choose:
The Grand Ballroom → more traditional, indoor, polished feel
The Pavilion Tent → a little more open, slightly more relaxed, still very put together
You’ll use the same ceremony location either way, but cocktail hour, guest flow, and the overall energy of the evening will feel a little different.
If you want to see how everything is laid out, Granite Links has created a guide for prospective couples to learn more about the setup, which you can find here.
How A Wedding Feels at Granite Links

You can look at photos all day long, but that doesn’t always tell you if a venue actually fits the kind of wedding you’re planning.
Granite Links is a really good fit if your wedding is going to land somewhere in that middle ground. Not super casual, not black tie, but still put together.
So for example, if you’re picturing:
A dress code that’s more suits and long dresses, not tuxes and gowns
An outdoor ceremony with a nice backdrop, but not something super remote or nature-heavy
A reception where people stay on the dance floor late into the night
A timeline that feels structured but not overly packed
Granite Links would be a great fit for you.
It’s also a good fit if you care about things looking nice, but you don’t want the entire day to feel like a production. You’re not trying to create a super formal, high-pressure environment. You just want a day that feels easy to move through, where your guests are comfortable and you're set up to have an incredibly fun night.
My Favorite Photo Spots On The Property
As a photographer, you already know I love a wedding venue that doesn't require us to leave the property to get amazing photos.
Granite Links has a mix of gorgeous natural views and interesting spaces, so there's a good variety to choose from throughout your wedding day. Here are some of my favorites:
The Getting Ready Space
There’s a separate getting ready space on the property, and it ends up being more of a perk than people expect.
It’s its own building, which makes the morning feel a little more contained. You’re not navigating around guests or vendors, and you have space to actually settle in before everything starts.
It also photographs really well, but more importantly, it just makes the start of your day feel easier.
The Rolling Hills
This is probably the best photo spot on the entire property. I often use it for portraits of the newlyweds, and it's a great chance to get away from the noise of the day and just enjoy being together.
A combination of the open land and the soft natural light creates the most amazing photos, and many couples say taking pictures here is their favorite part of the day.
The Boston Skyline
The view is so stunning that it literally takes my breath away every time I see it.
You won’t necessarily notice it in every moment, but when we intentionally bring it into your photos, it adds something really unique because it gives you that sense of place without taking over the entire image.
Indoor Cocktail Space
If you’re getting married in the ballroom, I end up using this space more than people expect.
It's a great chance to step away from the reception to take a minute and get some more intimate photos of you and your partner. It's clean, has good light, and creates beautiful images that I love to include in my couples' galleries.
The Ruins
And then, there are the stone ruins on the property.
They can be fun if you’re into something a little more textured or different, but most couples don’t end up using them. It’s definitely not a must-have spot, just something to keep in mind if it fits your style.
A Few Things To Keep In Mind

Like any venue, there are a couple of logistical things that are helpful to know ahead of time.
The biggest one is that there are usually two weddings happening on the same day. Because there are two reception spaces, timelines are structured a little differently depending on which one you’re in. Certain areas are used at different times, and priority can shift throughout the day.
For example, one couple may have access to the ceremony space first, while the other has priority for certain photo areas later on, like sunset.
It’s all managed really well by the venue team, but it’s something to be aware of so you’re not surprised by it.
There are also a few smaller things that come up:
Planes overhead → you’ll see and hear them occasionally since you’re in the Logan flight path (not disruptive, just noticeable)
Drone restrictions → there may be limitations because of that same airspace
Shared outdoor spaces → timing matters for when certain areas are available
None of these are dealbreakers, but they’re helpful to factor into your expectations early on.
Is Granite Links The Right Wedding Venue For You?

Granite Links tends to be a really good fit if you want a wedding that feels put together, but still fun once everything gets going. Not super formal, not overly styled, just… a really good night where people are comfortable and actually enjoy themselves.
It’s also a great option if you like the idea of an outdoor ceremony, but don’t want to be driving out to the middle of nowhere to get it.
And if you’re someone who doesn’t want to spend the entire day worrying about how things are running behind the scenes, this is one of those venues where that part is usually handled well enough that you don’t have to think about it.
On the other side, if you’re picturing something very formal, very styled, or really production-heavy, this might not be the best fit. It’s not that you can’t do that here, it’s just not what the space naturally lends itself to.
But if you want something that looks nice, runs smoothly, and turns into a genuinely fun night without a lot of effort… Granite Links might be the perfect choice.
