Waverly Oaks Golf Club wedding | Lisa & Jack

Waverly Oaks Golf Club Wedding Venue

Waverly Oaks Golf Club is a beautiful wedding venue located on the south shore in Plymouth, MA. The venue is on a golf club so you know the greenery surrounding it is pristine! The outdoor ceremony space is in front of a pergola which provides a perfect backdrop for exchanging vows - especially when there's a floral installation like what Jack and Lisa had!. The indoor reception space is equally stunning with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the golf course. Hard to beat!

Meet Lisa & Jack

While their wedding fell on a HOT summer day in August - Lisa and Jack had nothing but positive attitudes! The day had it's little and big wedding mishaps and miscommunications but once they saw each other allll that stress faded away! These college sweethearts put so much intentionality into their wedding, everyone could see just how much they loved each other and their families.

Getting Ready at the Harbourtown Suites

First Look at the Beach

Lisa chose to do a first look with her father, her bridesmaids, and Jack! Each one was emotional and perfect. The wedding party met up with us right after Lisa and Jack's first look... in a Monsters and Lobsters trolley!!! They had wanted to get a traditional wedding trolley but they were all booked up for their day so they went with this instead and it was such a hit.

Wedding Ceremony at Waverly Oaks

Their wedding ceremony was so, so beautiful - I mean, look at that floral backdrop!! Poppy Floral Designs (who just so happens to be Lisa' s cousin) truly outdid herself with the design! Not only the design, but the ceremony script and vows were both so sweet. Lisa's brother officiated the ceremony so it was not only super personalized, but really emotional as well. They chose to include readings from their godmother and aunt during the ceremony as well.

How to Prepare for a HOT Summer Wedding

Preparing for a hot summer wedding can be a challenge, but with a few simple precautions, you can make sure that you and your guests stay as cool (as possible) and comfortable throughout the day. By following these tips, you can help ensure that your summer wedding is a success:

Trust your vendors: You hired the professional for a reason, and chances are this isn't their first rodeo! Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions and listen if they offer any tips or alternatives to the original plan. This can look like changing times/locations for portraits, taking breaks to cool down, tweaking your hair and makeup, and being flexible to make sure you are not only making things pleasant for your guests but that you are also ENJOYING your day!

Pick the right venue: If you're planning a summer wedding, keep the location in consideration when choosing your venue. Is the ceremony site in full sun? Is there any open shade during cocktail hour? And perhaps most importantly... is there AC?

Make the ceremony short: You reallllyyy don't want anyone passing out during your I DO's - including you! Standing under the beating sun in a heavy dress or tight suit can take its toll, and your guests will be grateful if things are kept on schedule! If possible, try not to choose a ceremony time right at the hottest part of the day!

Be prepared: Provide fans or umbrellas if your ceremony is outside. Consider offering pre-ceremony cold drinks for your guests to sip and stay cool. Also, don't forget to pack the essentials like extra deodorant and possibly sunglasses!

HYDRATE! Get in those electrolytes, and don't forget to EAT before the ceremony! Taking care of yourself and your guests will make a hot summer wedding day take less of a toll on the body!

Reception at Waverly Oaks Golf Club

While Lisa and Jack did a private first dance immediately after their ceremony, for their first dance during their intros, it was choreographed and epic and full of life - just like them!

Just like the ceremony, the speeches during their reception were both tear jerkers and had everyone in stitches. I just love how everyone in their group truly feels, and wears their emotions openly - it makes for some really beautiful reaction photos. I only included a few here but I could've easily filled the entire blog with just reaction shots!

Waverly Oaks Golf Club was the most perfect wedding venue for their day, and it was made all the better by their incredible vendor team which brought the day to life:
