Cape Cod Beach Engagement at Lighthouse Inn | Massachusetts Wedding Photographer | Shelby & Alan

Shelby and Alan began like all modern love stories begin: online dating 😉. They matched on Tinder but it took a while for them to warm up to each other.

Alan is from North Dakota and moved to Cape Cod for a career in the golf industry. Alan is unapologetically himself. He is so great to be around because he says what is on his mind- which is usually something guaranteed to make you laugh. Shelby is from central MA but loves the beach so she took residence on the coast. She is absolutely hilarious but can be a tough cookie to crack. She is fiercely loyal to those closest to her but takes a while to let other people in to get close. Alan's charm eventually broke down Shelby's wall and after years of falling in love and having the cutest little baby ever, they got engaged.

Alan had a big proposal planned out to pop the question after Shelby finished the Martha's Vineyard Half Marathon, but the ring was delayed. So then he planned for Mother's Day... but the ring was still delayed! So eventually he planned a picnic on the beach right near their home and included both their son and their dog in the day. And thus the reason this blog exists!!

They've chosen the Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis, MA for their wedding venue (Cape Life 4efa) so wanted to do their engagement photos right there on the beach as well! And hoooraayyy for that because once the sun went down, we had the most amazing blue hour colors in the sky for photos.

They brought their son, Alan (Alan the Third! How regal!), and the photos with him in them make me SO FREAKING HAPPY because THEY are so happy together!!! Shelby and Alan squared are seriously freaking family goals. I'm so so excited to photograph their wedding at the Lighthouse Inn this September (if the 'rona behaves).

Enjoy these photos of their love!

Tam
